We hope this finds everyone and their families doing well!!! The holiday season is upon us and we'll be having our holiday raffle and Chick-fil-a Spirit night again this year. However, this year the proceeds will go directly to a very special little boy and his family. 

You may have seen some recent posts about Nova but here is his story…Nova Canatella-Baum was born 10/4/12. He was born with a congenital Heart Defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. Nova underwent open-heart surgery 5 days after his birth. The operation was a success; however he had a small bleed in his head a few days later, unrelated, which resulted in him needing a brain procedure to drain off the extra fluid that was accumulating. He has since needed to have a permanent shunt placed because the fluid was not draining. Nova was born with two chromosome deletions. HE IS THE FIRST CASE OF THIS REPORTED IN THE WORLD. Unfortunately, because of this, doctors cannot predict what the future will hold for this little guy. They will follow and document his life. He is now 13 months old and cannot crawl, or sit unassisted. He has had 17 surgeries and procedures to date. His most recent was to repair a cleft palate. He's had a tough go his short time here, but even with everything that he has gone through, Nova still always has a smile on his face. 

Situations like this impact not only the child but the family as well. Nova’s father Charlie, mother Rachel and big sister Charlie Grace have all had their life altered. As a family or household, you always find a way to do what needs to be done to take care of your family. Most often this happens under circumstances that we control…their reality is quite different.

8:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Martin’s East in Baltimore
$50/per person (a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Johns Hopkins Children's Center)

Music by STARCRUSH and DJ Drew, buffet dinner with open deluxe bar, dancing, raffles, silent auctions, wheels, 50/50, door prizes and a ton of fun!

Last year’s event was attended by 840 guests and raised over $30,000! A portion of the proceeds this year will again support The Demi Foundation’s mission to support pediatric medical care and research, as well as those children and families that are affected.
